Pennisetum Orientale is a very pretty grass; a slightly smaller cultivar Pennisetum Orientale produces masses of long thin mauve-pink flower heads all summer and autumn. Flowers appear from midsummer on tall stems topped by a bottlebrush or foxtail of pink hairs. Pennisetum Orientale prefers sun or light shade and sheltered. Most soils except waterlogged.
