Ornamental Grasses Stipa tenuissima. Aka Nassela tenuissima. Mexican feather grass. Native to the prairie this versatile grass ideal for prairie planting a sunny gravel garden or perennial border, Stipa tenuissima has very fine wispy, pale to yellowy-green leaves topped with feathery plumes of silver grey flowers, maturing to blonde bob that persist for months. Stipa tenuissima has a graceful arching shape making it a wonderful specimen for animating and introducing movement into your garden. Stipa tenuissima do not cope with shade. Stipa tenuissima enjoy the full sun and are both exposure and drought tolerant. Free draining to dry soil, impoverished with sand is good. Has a low nutrient need. 1 Litre pot size.
