An exceptional non-invasive choice for a garden specimen or accent, or as a focal point of interest in a sheltered spot. Angustissima belongs to a clumping species unlike the running Bamboos whose roots are aggressive colonizers. Angustissima is a tall bamboo whose growth is naturally compact. As such, producing a dense stems and fine foliage some 6.0-7.0 meters tall and 2 cm in width. The new stems, which emerge in late spring or early summer, are dusted with a white powder and conspicuous stripes. The leaves are finer than those of other Fountain Bamboos it is cold tolerant to -12°C. It thrives in well drained, organic soils and light shade to full shade and prefers sheltered areas.
