Miscanthus nepalensis. Nepalese Fairy Grass. This compact and unusual very Miscanthus makes an excellent specimen. Native to the Himalaya and Burma this hardy grass forms bold clumps of elegant green foliage.100 cm. x 100 cm. This is followed in summer by pendulous finger like plumes of yellowish drooping flower heads. These persist into the autumn and make good architectural seed-heads. It isn’t completely hardy in the extreme north and will benefit from some protection during winter.. Clumps benefit from being cut back to ground level in early spring to make space for the new growth. Full sun evenly moist soil.See the RHS Miscanthus trials here
