b21 - Phyllostachys glauca
Add this to My Wish List
Bamboo Phyllostachys glauca. From the alluvial planes of China comes this very profuse and remarkably exposure and soil tolerant species. It is very robust dealing with sandy soil, salt laden air and to some extent very wet locations well, providing it is not permanently waterlogged. Culms emerge covered with silvery blue powder bloom developing into green-blue young canes. Culm sheaths are green with a brushstroke of burgundy. This makes a formidable and architectural feature. It also crops so prolifically it can be cropped to supply your needs for garden canes.
