Semiarundinaria yashadake Kimmei. Emperor Kimmei (Kinmei Tenn¨) 509-571 was the 29th emperor of Japan, according to the traditional order of succession, and the first to whom contemporary historiography assigns clear dates. Bearing the emperors name this bamboo has green grooved canes topped with a mop of large Brunswick green leaves. However when grown in the full sun the canes acquire an attractive washed burgundy blush. A vigorous and very reliable grower 2 meters wide by 3 meters high max. Fantastic for a dense screen
