Ornamental Grasses Stipa gigantea. The Oat Grass.Gigantea. Unmistakable with its evergreen mounds of dark green leaves and large panicles of oat like flowers. First gold then golden brown through winter. Stipa’s have tremendously presence in the garden. Clumps of attractive narrow leaves abundant flowers for long periods. They do not cope with shade. Full Sun, but are exposure and drought tolerant. Free draining to dry soil, impoverished with sand is good. Has a low nutrient need. Not ready for shipment until late June July.
